Introduction

The character is a Ronin set in a poor town. The tone of the style is a bit desaturated, wet and dirty for it to give the mood of being a bad time for the character. As for polycount, my aim was to be around 10k.

What motivated me to use the character and the style, are personal tastes over some online games and Japanese culture which is exotic to me.

Summation

I’m satisfied with the outcome of the textures and the shape of the models.

But there are a lot of things I have to improve.Like subsurface scattering, animation-friendly topology, hair, hands, and mouth modelling as well. There are bad habits on me I have to put aside, which is leaving the full body behind the clothes. If I were to redo the character, I would research on hair modelling workflows for realistic hair, hand modelling and more especially a research on models with clothes that cover a different amount of body.

Further learning on rigging and skinning body parts may help understand how should I fix these issues.

For my next project I will be putting away such bad habits, research on the knowledge I lack, and putting all this in good practice.
